1. Vaccinations

I confirm my pet is current on all required vaccinations including Rabies, DHPP/DA2PP (dogs), and FVRCP (cats). I understand Shiny Paws may request proof at any time and may refuse service if records cannot be provided.

2. Health & Disclosure

I have disclosed all known medical conditions, allergies, sensitivities, behavioral issues, prior matting, skin conditions, and any history of biting or aggression. I understand that withholding information may result in injury to my pet, staff, or other animals, for which I accept full responsibility.

3. Matted Coat / Skin Conditions

I understand that severely matted pets may require shave-down rather than scissor work, that this is done humanely for the pet's welfare, and that nicks, cuts, irritation, or pre-existing skin issues may be revealed during the process. I release Shiny Paws from liability for cosmetic outcomes related to matting or pre-existing conditions.

4. Senior Pets / Pre-Existing Conditions

I understand that grooming carries elevated risk for senior, ill, or anxious pets, including but not limited to stress, cardiac events, or aggravation of existing conditions. I accept this risk and release Shiny Paws from liability arising from such conditions.

5. Accidents

While Shiny Paws exercises every reasonable care, I understand that minor accidents (small nicks, brush burn, clipper irritation) can occur. I agree to notify Shiny Paws immediately of any injury observed, and acknowledge that Shiny Paws' liability is limited to the cost of veterinary treatment directly caused by groomer negligence, capped at the cost of services rendered.

6. Photographs

I grant Shiny Paws permission to photograph my pet for use on their website, social media, and marketing materials. (Use the opt-out checkbox below to decline.)

7. Aggressive or Unmanageable Pets

I understand Shiny Paws reserves the right to discontinue service if my pet displays aggression that endangers staff or other pets. The full service fee may still apply.

8. Pickup

I agree to pick up my pet at the agreed time. Pets not picked up within 24 hours of the agreed time may be considered abandoned per California Civil Code § 1834.

9. Payment

Payment is due in full upon completion of service, payable by card or cash at the store. No-show appointments, or cancellations made without at least 2 hours' notice, may be charged a one-time $25 fee against future bookings.

10. Emergency Veterinary Care

In the event of a medical emergency where I cannot be reached, I authorize Shiny Paws to seek emergency veterinary care for my pet at the nearest available clinic, and I agree to be financially responsible for all such costs.

11. Severability & Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California, County of Los Angeles. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder shall remain in full effect.
